Kitchen Faucet Water Filter Reviews: 4 to Consider

As with most products for your home or elsewhere, finding the “best” one overall is virtually impossible. It’s a situational thing. You want the best one for you. So you may find the best kitchen faucet water filter amongst the four (actually five) I’ll review here.

Or you may not.

You get to be the judge! Yay!

Note: I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

If you’re a judge in a hurry and just want to check the pricing and availability of these filters at Amazon, you can click (or tap) the links in the list below.

I’ll mention a fifth one briefly below, after giving you the details (what few there are in some cases) about the four in the list above.

Culligan FM-25 Faucet Mount Filter

For some strange reason, Culligan makes it really difficult to find out any pertinent information about the Culligan FM-25 Faucet Mount Water Filter.

I’m not the only one who’s had trouble finding information. The Amazon listing itself looks pretty bare bones.

In any case, here’s what I can tell you. The Culligan FM-25 Faucet Mount Filter with “Advanced Water Filtration” has a chrome finish, as you can see in the picture. (Most, but not all, of these filters have a chrome finish so they’ll (most likely) match the finish of your faucet.

This filter is designed to combat atrazine (an herbicide), chlorine, lead, lindane (an insecticide and fumigant), and items in Nominal Particulate Class I – itty-bitty pieces ½ to 1 micron in size.

It also fights against bad taste and odor, clears out sediments and turbidity – the cloudiness that water can sometimes have.

That’s it. That’s all I can tell you. If you have more info on the Culligan FM-25, please share below.

PUR 3-Stage Advanced Faucet Water Filter

If you see references to the PUR “Advanced Faucet Water Filter” and the PUR “3-Stage Advanced Faucet Water Filter”, realize that they are one and the same. If “Plus” is mentioned in the conversation, as in “PUR Plus #FM-3700B Water Filtration System”, this is also the same filter.

Happily, PUR is not so stingy with information about their products.

PUR brands their filtration process as “MAXION” filter technology. I assume this is simply a combination of “maximum” and “ion”, as in…We use ionization (electrification) to remove the maximum number of particles possible from your water.

PUR says their water filter is “certified to reduce over 70 contaminants including 99% of Lead, 96% of Mercury, 92% of certain pesticides. More than any other brand.”

They footnote this claim, saying, “As of 10/3/2018, NSF certification comparison [is] valid for faucet mount and pour-through filters.”

This filter handles other nasties thusly: Chlorine – 96% (for better taste), industrial pollutants – 99%, pharmaceuticals – 96%, and cysts – 99%.

You use the “CleanSensor” monitor on the filter to keep track of its status. You can attach it to most non-movable faucets to filter 100 gallons of water before you need to change the filter.

PUR gives you a 2-year limited warranty on this 3-stage filter – not as long as some, but a decent length nonetheless.

Kabter Healthy Faucet Water Filter System

The Kabter Healthy Faucet Mount Water Filter System also fits most stationary faucets, but you may need an adapter in a few cases.

A single filter should last almost twice as long – 200 gallons worth – as the PUR above.

The Kabter KDF55 water filter uses activated carbon to remove many of the same contaminants as those mentioned above, plus a few others. Bad guys removed include mercury, lead, chlorine, cysts, benzene (a solvent), and asbestos.

Kabter says it also controls “bacteria and inhibits the growth of scale, lime, mold, and fungi.”

This filter is made from ABS plastic, not metal. If that’s a problem for you, check out one of the other filters instead. That said, manufacturers don’t always tell you (online) what the filter is made of.

Here’s a very quiet video showing the installation and first use of a Kabter filter. It’s all done in less than 2 minutes.

DuPont WFFM100XCH Premier Faucet Water Filter

The DuPont Faucet Water Filter removes over 99% of the cysts, cryptosporidium (a disease-causing parasite), and giardia (another parasite) in your water.

It’s also certified to reduce chlorine, Class I particulates, asbestos, lead, mercury, turbidity, and VOCs (volatile organic chemicals).

DuPont goes so far as to state the standards to which this filter complies: NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, and 372. These cover all the items mentioned just above.

You can get this model in chrome (metal?) or white (likely plastic). Either version comes with a 3-year warranty.

DuPont Electric Metered 200-Gallon Deluxe Faucet Mount

This DuPont 200-gallon filter is the fifth one I hinted at earlier. The other DuPont model seems to handle 100 gallons of water. If that’s not enough for your household, consider this larger capacity filter instead.

The DuPont Deluxe filter complies to the same standards as the one above. It has a whopping 4-year warranty – the longest I’ve seen.

It’s available in chrome, brushed nickel (metal? probably), and white.

Conclusions about Faucet Water Filters

As I mentioned earlier, which one of these you purchase depends on your particular (no pun intended) set of circumstances.

They’re all good at what they do – removing gunk from your water. Some do it longer or faster than others. Some are made of sturdier bits than others. Some cost more than others.

Check out each of them and compare them to your needs. Then get the one that makes the most sense for you.

But if you didn’t find one here that you liked, try learning about these countertop models instead.
